
Tax Analyst

Job Description
UHY Resource Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst to join our team in Houston, Texas. The Tax Analyst will be responsible for supporting tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities
Prepare book-tax differences for both tax provision and tax returns.
Assist with tax provision calculations in accordance with GAAP.
Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Prepare tax return workpapers and tax returns (federal, state, informational).
Assist with the reconciliation of income tax accounts.
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on tax-related matters.
Maintain tax files/records (including SOX documentation).
Research federal and state income tax issues.
Other tax responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with good communication skills.
Knowledge of federal and Texas state tax regulations.
A willingness to grow and learn.
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Minimum of two years' experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA eligible.
Experience with CorpTax.
Need to be adept at working in a dynamic and complex environment while leveraging available technology.
Eligibility US Resident, Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
