Small Engine Repairer NA-07.

Responsibilities

Independently inspects, maintains, and performs minor repairs on a diverse rental inventory including outboard motors, boats, travel trailers, ATVs, and snowmobiles to ensure operational readiness.

Conducts routine visual inspections on returned rental equipment, identifying and replacing worn, dirty, or damaged parts and components to minimize downtime.

Coordinates with supervisors for major equipment repairs and the timely procurement of replacement parts, ensuring the longevity and safety of the inventory.

Instructs patrons on the correct and safe operation of rental equipment upon issue and performs preventative maintenance to keep all items clean, staged, and prepared for rental.

General knowledge of operational and repair characteristics requirements for small gasoline engine powered equipment.

Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment required in small engine repair work.

Ability to read manufacturers’ manuals and determine repair parts requirements.

Ability to complete such entries as issue and turn‑in dates, item names, and stock or part numbers on issue, and turn‑in forms.

Conditions of Employment

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

A one‑year probationary period may be required.

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.

Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215‑3.

This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.

A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.

Must be willing to accept intermittent, on‑call employment.

Must frequently bend, reach, crouch, stand, and conduct continuous arm movements.

Must lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted on a routine basis.

Must work in awkward positions and cramped areas.

Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.

Work schedule will be irregular, and the incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.

Area of Consideration

Must live within 100 miles of Fort Drum, NY.

If you are a non‑U.S. National, you must have lived in the U.S. or a U.S. Territory for at least three years in a row right before starting this job.

Spouse Employment Preference (SEP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) are included in this area of consideration.
