Summary The individuals who perform this job provide extraordinary shopping experiences to our guests and stock merchandise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Know and actively demonstrate daily the Company Mission Statement and Core Values.

Maintain uniform standards, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.

Demonstrate superior product knowledge.

Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor, remembering that the guest always comes first.

Recommend merchandise based on the guests’ needs or desires, focusing on in‑house brands.

Answer guests’ questions concerning price and use of merchandise.

Create client relationships with regular guests.

If needed, carry product to register counters and assist guests in carrying out products.

May be asked to run a cash register or receive as business dictates.

Prepare promotional events as necessary.

Set up displays or arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables, to promote sales.

Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness; stock shelves with product.

Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.

Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; look for improperly stocked products to avoid trips and falls.

Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.

Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow‑moving product, stock levels, out of stock items, and department needs.

Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.

Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.

Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.

Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.

Limit use of personal cell phone to work‑related activities only while on the sales floor.

Carry out directives of management efficiently.

Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.

Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.

Possess time‑management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.

Ability to manage stress in a fast‑paced environment.

Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.

Continuously stand, lift, carry, walk, bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more; use proper lifting techniques and tools to move up to 100 pounds when required.

Other projects and tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. State law requires applicants to be over the age of 21.

Education or Experience We prefer retail sales experience; if you are willing to learn, we will teach you. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but experience can substitute.

Language Skills Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos; communicate with coworkers and guests. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Mathematical Skills Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating discounts and percentages. A calculator may be used.

Demeanor and Personal Skills Smiley, friendly, helpful, responsible, reliable, committed to providing extraordinary service. Patience, friendliness, and an outgoing personality are required.

Hours

Full‑time: typically 35 hours per week, and flexible to work any shift on Friday or Saturday; must be available for 80% or more of all shifts.

Part‑time: up to 25 hours per week.

Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.

Certificates, Licenses Maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit, and, when required, a valid Food Handlers Permit. The TABC course is funded up to 3 hours; the cost may be deducted from your paycheck.

Physical Demands The position requires standing, walking, bending, using arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift; climbing or balancing; communicating and understanding. Regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds, and push/pull 50–100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment and Conditions A fun and positive environment with exposure to outside weather conditions during deliveries. Noise level is usually moderate.
