Overview
We are seeking an entry-level, full-time Sales Associate in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging with customers, processing sales, loans, and other transactions, and assisting with customer inquiries and problem resolution. The associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more. The successful candidate will earn a base hourly wage plus potential commission based on productivity. Position Summary
The Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage, PLUS employees earn commission based on productivity. The pay rate is $12.95 to $15.95 per hour, with potential to earn commission on transactions. The commission plan information is described below. Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions. Perform non-management open/close procedures. Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays. Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and procedures. Handle cash and negotiable items per policies and procedures. Answer incoming calls per company standards. Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers. Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; contribute to a positive customer experience. Complete required training and participate in team responsibilities. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform duties as required by law, including walking, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling. Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (as applicable). May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products stored in exterior areas. Minimum Age: 18 years old; High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Strong desire to serve customers, be team-oriented, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform basic math calculations; cash handling experience preferred. Able to work at multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays. Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office equipment. Commission and Benefits
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on personal performance. More details provided during interview. Earned Wage Access program available on the second day of employment (withdraw up to 50% of wages earned, up to seven times per payroll cycle). Medical, dental, vision, life, supplemental, and other voluntary options (eligibility required). Vacation: 1 week after six months; additional week after one year; two weeks on each anniversary thereafter; 120 hours after five years (adjusted by local requirements). Sick/Personal time: 8 hours after six months; 16 hours each anniversary thereafter (2–5 years); 24 hours after five years (adjusted by local requirements).
