Auto Parts Counter Associate Auto Parts Counter Associate role at Empire Automotive Group’s Hyundai of New Rochelle location. Seeking a driven, customer‑focused professional with prior automotive parts sales experience and a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. The position requires physical strength and stamina for lifting, squatting, and carrying heavy items.
This role supports both retail and internal service operations, working closely with technicians and advisors to ensure accurate parts sourcing and efficient workflow. The position is centered on team success, operational precision, and contributing to the continued growth of the store.
Your Daily Work Schedule
Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Converse effectively regarding customer parts status.
Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information to customers.
Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct, and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
Provide high‑level service to both internal and external customers.
Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
Notify parts manager of out‑of‑stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Locate out‑of‑stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
Qualities We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent and auto parts sales experience (preferred).
Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
Some parts counter experience, dealership or aftermarket.
Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Understanding the importance of listening and being empathetic.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
Experience providing outstanding customer service by showcasing expertise, fostering trust, and growing customer satisfaction.
Friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, with a positive “team‑player” attitude.
Open to constructive feedback to improve performance and development.
Flexible with work scheduling and availability to work weekends and holidays.
Strong computer and multitasking skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
