Digital Marketing & Photography for Social Media Social Media & Editorial Photography Content Intern
Opaline Estate Jewelry is a Minnesota based business with a worldwide audience. Opaline specializes in authentic antique and historical jewelry. What began as an organic Instagram presence has grown to over 50,000+ followers across multiple platforms — built entirely through photography, visual storytelling, and a genuine passion for historic objects. In Spring 2026, we are opening our first brick-and-mortar shop in Savage, Minnesota, and we are looking for a creative intern to join our small team.
This role offers hands-on experience working with rare and beautiful antique jewelry while helping create compelling visual content for a real, active audience of collectors around the world. You will work closely with the Founder & Creative Director to photograph and document pieces as they move through the shop, contributing directly to the brand's social media presence and e-commerce listings.
You will work on visual storytelling, editorial styling, photography, brand development, and product photography.
Responsibilities
Assist with photographing jewelry for social media and ecommerce
Help style and stage jewelry for editorial and product photography
Create and edit short-form video content (Reels / TikTok)
Help Write copy and schedule social media posts
Organize and manage digital image files
Required Skills
Interest in photography and social media content creation
Comfort using a smartphone or camera for content creation
Basic familiarity with editing tools (Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar)
Understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
Interest in product photography, editorial styling, or visual storytelling
Ability to work independently on creative tasks
Applicants should include a portfolio or examples of visual work — class projects are welcome. This may include photography, social media content, video, or other visual projects. Please include 3–5 examples of work you created yourself.
What You'll Gain
Hands-on experience creating editorial and product photography and social media content for a real brand and active audience. You will leave with a portfolio of product photography, short-form video content, and practical e-commerce experience — plus a behind-the-scenes understanding of how visual storytelling drives a small business. Academic credit arrangements may be available depending on your program.
