Area HR Director

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 / year Area role for the DC area - come join our team! Position: Area HR Director Department: Property (on-site) FLSA: Exempt Position Reports to: General Manager (directly); Corporate HR Director (indirectly) This position is based full-time on site, and time will be dedicated appropriately to all OTO Development hotels in the assigned area. What will you be doing most days? Provide strategic HR leadership and operational support to a portfolio of hotel properties in the specified market. Partner closely with the General Managers and property leadership teams to drive associate engagement, operational excellence, and legal compliance while cultivating a strong service-driven culture. In partnership with the corporate HR team, oversee all aspects of on-property HR-related tasks including talent acquisition, onboarding, associate relations, compliance, training and development, workforce planning, and culture initiatives. A key priority of this role is helping the properties maintain a positive, pro-employee workplace environment where associates feel respected, heard, and valued. Proactively partner with the leadership teams to address workplace concerns, strengthen engagement, and support a culture of open communication and responsiveness to associates. What are the requirements for this position? Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, hospitality management, or related field preferred. 710 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience Hospitality or hotel industry experience strongly preferred Experience supporting multi-property operations Experience in labor-sensitive hospitality markets Demonstrated ability to lead employee relations initiatives and leadership coaching Have proficient skills Microsoft Office programs Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Highly organized, detail oriented, accurate and timely You have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills You have an entrepreneurial spirited and you are always looking for ways to improve processes Physical Requirements for this Position You must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates. Travel Requirements Local travel between all assigned hotels in specified market. This position may require up to 10% travel outside the local area and occasionally overnight.
