Preconstruction Cost Estimator
We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Cost Estimator to support capital project planning and execution across the Central U.S. region. This role involves developing detailed cost estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and supporting project teams throughout all phases of construction. This position is open to candidates located near any Central U.S. office location and may require occasional travel. Pay: $48.00- $72.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed capital cost estimates across all project phases Review contractor bids and proposals for various procurement methods Validate and manage change orders Prepare quantity take-offs and work breakdown structures Support contract development for subcontractors and vendors Analyze project scope, risks, and cost relationships Maintain organized project records, logs, and documentation Present cost estimates and findings to internal and external stakeholders Participate in project meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams Minimum Requirements (Must-Have):
U.S. Citizenship required High school diploma or equivalent 510 years of construction estimating experience (building and civil projects) Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software (Sage Timberline, MII, Bluebeam) Understanding of cost, risk, and schedule relationships Ability to travel as needed (minimal) with personal vehicle Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with alternative delivery procurement methods General contracting construction background Certifications such as CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM
