Our client is a top Real Estate Management firm based in NYC. They are seeking a Director of Accounting to join the team.

Who You Are

Finance and accounting professional with 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate, property, or asset management

Proven team leader with the ability to drive accountability and improve performance

Strong expertise in interpreting complex lease structures including step rent and percentage rent

Proficient in Yardi, MRI, or similar systems with experience handling large portfolios and billing processes

Detail‑oriented with strong communication skills and a focus on accuracy and risk mitigation

What You’ll Do

Lead accounting operations and oversee team output across portfolio activities

Support and direct senior staff while ensuring accuracy in lease administration, billing, and reconciliations

Use reporting tools to track progress, identify issues, and maintain timely deliverables

Set and monitor KPIs to improve productivity and team effectiveness

Strengthen policies, controls, and workflows to enhance oversight

Drive new initiatives, including system upgrades and process improvements

Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve issues and fulfill requests

Assist with recurring financial reporting and presentations

Accurate execution of lease and financial processes with minimal errors

A more accountable, high‑performing team environment

Improved workflows supported by clear controls and reporting

Strong client relationships and consistent delivery on expectations

Salary Range $170,000 – 185,000 annually, based on experience

Location New York, NY – Hybrid
