About the Role:

As the Manager, Art Direction for Retail & Print, you will be responsible for leading the ideation, adaptation, development, design, and execution of all retail, store, and chain point-of-sale creative for a powerful portfolio of brands, including Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani, Pulp Riot, and L'Oreal Technique. You will strategically lead the brand experience from the smallest detail to the biggest picture, ensuring every consumer touchpoint is in line with the DMI brand charter. This role requires a visionary who keeps the customer experience as a top priority while managing the day‑to‑day creative process under the direction of the AVP, Creative.

What You Will Do

Creative Leadership:

Lead the design and execution of all 2D print collateral and 3D retail environments for point-of-sale (POS) and wholesale channels.

Brand Stewardship:

Ensure all creative output aligns with the DMI brand charter and maintains consistency across all consumer touchpoints.

Project & People Management:

Manage daily workflows for external agencies and vendors while collaborating cross-functionally with designers and Merchandising Directors.

Strategic Planning:

Support the planning and anticipation of brand needs for key retailer meetings and help strategize new opportunities to improve the consumer experience.

Process Optimization:

Continually optimize and evolve the creative process to streamline visuals and improve efficiency while meeting strict deadline expectations.

Innovation:

Drive print and retail innovation based on current US market trends, including deep involvement in printing, structural design, and materials/manufacturing processes.

What We Are Looking For

Education:

Bachelor degree

Experience:

5+ years of experience in branding and design with a focus on print, retail creative, and physical spaces.

5+ years of creative experience, preferably within the beauty industry.

2+ years of Art Direction experience, including managing/directing junior designers and external agencies.

Technical Proficiency:

Expertise in

Adobe Creative Suite

(MAC-based).

Proficiency in

Sketch Up , Rhino, or other 3D rendering software.

Strong computer literacy in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional craftsmanship, typography skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to make quick decisions and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.

Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with diverse international internal and external contacts.

Physical Requirements:

Office‑based role with long periods of sitting and computer work.

Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

$98,400-$140,200 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job‑related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
