Position Description The Test Director is responsible for the planning, design, execution, and oversight of complex test and evaluation events in support of system validation and operational effectiveness. This role ensures that test objectives, requirements, and mission threads are clearly defined, executed, and assessed, providing customers with accurate, data-driven insights on system performance. The Test Director leads cross-functional teams, manages test environments, and coordinates logistics while adhering to security and operational protocols. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, along with experience in requirements analysis, test planning, and risk management within dynamic technical environments.

Essential Position Functions

Plan, design, and execute test events, delivering clear and concise reports that assess system performance against defined objectives and requirements.

Prepare and manage test environments, coordinate logistical support, and ensure compliance with established security procedures.

Identify, assess, and resolve programmatic and technical issues that arise during test execution.

Lead and direct test teams, delegating tasks and ensuring execution aligns with approved test plans and timelines.

Develop and deliver briefings to customers, leadership, and stakeholders on test progress, risks, and key technical findings.

Develop comprehensive Test Plans outlining scope, resources, schedules, and test cases required to achieve objectives.

Create detailed test cases, scripts, and scenarios to support systems under test and associated simulation tools.

Support mission thread development to ensure realistic and operationally relevant testing.

Conduct requirements analysis and allocation to ensure traceability between system requirements and test objectives.

Compile and deliver Test Reports that accurately reflect data collected, analysis performed, and overall system effectiveness.

Utilize data collection and analysis tools to support evaluation efforts and inform decision-making.

Apply Test and Evaluation risk management processes to identify, mitigate, and communicate risks throughout the test lifecycle.

A solid understanding of test planning, requirements traceability, data analysis, and risk management is essential, along with the adaptability and accountability needed to lead teams and deliver results under tight timelines.

Physical Requirements for the role This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including viewing monitors, using keyboards, and operating standard office equipment. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 10 pounds).

Work Environment The work environment for this position is primarily a professional office or remote setting with standard business conditions. The role involves regular use of computers and related technology in a low-noise environment and frequent collaboration with technical and non-technical team members. Work is generally performed during normal business hours with minimal physical risk, and the environment supports adherence to established cybersecurity, safety, and organizational policies.

Security Clearance Requirements Secret

Travel Requirements Travel is anticipated to be 10% - 15% within the Continental United States and 5%-10% outside the Continental United States

Compensation $90,000 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
