Scope of Position The Director, Plant Operations will be responsible for production performance, safety, quality, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role that requires strong daily presence on plant floor, decisive communication, and the ability to build accountability across teams while reinforcing clear expectations, operational discipline, and high-performance standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals are met
Develop and implement production programs such as training, safety, etc.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving throughput, and increasing operational efficiency in alignment with company profitability goals
Establish and monitor KPIs (safety, quality, scrap, productivity, downtime, labor efficiency)
Lead and mentor a team of Production Supervisors
Address production performance and safety issues promptly
Foster a culture of respect, open communication, and collaboration
Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Partner with cross functional teams to maintain product standards and reduce defects
Analyze operational data to drive informed decision-making
Qualifications Required
7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
3+ years in a Plant Manager or senior operations leadership role
Demonstrated experience establishing structure operations through process discipline and performance accountability
Experience managing supervisors and multi-shift operations
Strong working knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
Proven success driving measurable operational improvements
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
Experience supporting organizations with $20–$50 million in annual revenue strongly preferred
