
Real Estate Instructor

The Real Estate Instructor will be assigned to instruct students enrolled in the Ogden‑Weber Technical College’s (OWTC) Real Estate Program. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical instruction in real estate principles and practices for federal and Utah state law. The incumbent is expected to have a working knowledge in the real estate profession such as agency, contracts, real estate values, federal real estate guidelines, and Utah Division of Real Estate law. The incumbent will work closely with other program faculty members to support student success measures of completion, placement, and licensure.
This position works under the direction of the Real Estate Coordinator/Instructor.
Responsibilities
Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records to include verification of attendance and competency completion. Work closely with the program coordinator to develop new curriculum and instructional methodologies and/or maintain existing curriculum and instructional methodologies as they relate to industry trends. Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure. Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist counselors, administration, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success. Maintain contact with area employers; seek and implement feedback to continuously improve program curricula and training facilities to meet industry standards in support of completion, placement, and licensure. Complete assignments within established timelines, attend programmatic and college team meetings, college marketing events, and participate in programmatic accreditation. Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders. Represent the college community in a professional manner. Other responsibilities as assigned. Education and Experience Required
1. A minimum of five years industry experience. 2. High school diploma or equivalent. 3. Proficient in business productivity software, financial and accounting principles, marketing, leadership and communication skills, agency, contracts, real estate values, federal real estate guidelines, and Utah Division of Real Estate law. 4. Meet the requirements for or hold a current instructor certification as a pre‑licensing agent from the Division of Real Estate. 5. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications as well as other computer software applications. Education and Experience Preferred
1. An associate degree in a real estate or real estate‑related field is preferred. 2. An active Broker License is preferred. 3. An active broker teaching license from the Division of Real Estate is preferred. 4. National Association of Realtors (NAR) designations preferred. 5. Experience in teaching and/or curriculum development preferred. Physical Requirements
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Working Hours
