
Human Resources Specialist

Overview
This position provides advanced-level human resources services to MnDOT District Six leadership, supervisors, and employees. Operating with limited supervision, the incumbent ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws, rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. This role serves as a subject matter expert in key HR functions, including recruitment and staffing, selection, job classification, compensation, outreach, labor relations, and contract administration. The position plays a critical role in supporting a fair, equitable, and legally compliant workplace.
Minimum Qualifications One (1) year
of professional level experience in human resources demonstrating all requirements listed below.
OR
Two (2) years
of paraprofessional/technical experience in human resources or a related field demonstrating all requirements listed below.
Please note:
A bachelor's or master’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or a closely related field substitutes for one (1) year of professional experience.
Experience/Education must demonstrate the following
Experience managing hiring and selection processes.
Experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting information.
Experience creating written documents such as reports or presentations.
Experience using databases to update, track and retrieve information.
Experience communicating information to others verbally and in writing.
