
Assistant Superintendent

Responsibilities
The Assistant Superintendent provides support to the Superintendent in all aspects of the construction process such as coordinating site activities and directing subcontractors, field verifications and inspections, interacting with third party partners and owners, and the completion and acceptance of projects. The Field Engineer also participates in overseeing job site safety, quality control, project scheduling, etc. as determined by the Jobsite Superintendent.
Assist with maintaining the project schedule and controlling costs
Proactively identify and strategically solve problems with minimal oversight
Assist in managing the project team successfully and collaboratively
Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with subcontractors, and Owner's vendors
Assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule
Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings
Assist with preparing RFI's and as-builts
Assist with coordinating the work of subcontractors
Assist with coordinating building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and agencies
In collaboration with the Superintendent, perform daily job site walks, prepare daily reports, take jobsite photos and other required documents (reference the "Superintendent Items Due" spreadsheet
Attend Foreman meetings, Subcontractor Pre-con meetings, Safety meetings and internal project team meetings
Assist with the management of job site manpower production and performance
Other related duties as assigned or needed
Requirements
2+ years commercial construction experience, ideally as a Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Foreman or a similar position. May have deep expertise in a particular construction trade as part of a commercial construction project
Familiarity with construction management and office productivity software, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, Procore, or other web-based or mobile document and project management solutions
Possess a valid Driver's license in order to travel to assigned jobsites
Maintain OSHA 30, First Aid, & CPR Certification
