
Associate Director of Admissions French Program (Temp to Hire)

POSITION OVERVIEW
Silicon Valley International School (INTL) is seeking a temporary Associate Director of Admission (French Program) to support the Admission Team during a leave of absence. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity, with the potential to transition into a regular position based on school needs and individual performance.
The Assistant Director of Admission supports the management of the enrollment process and contributes to the school’s efforts to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse, dynamic, and mission‑aligned student population from Preschool through Grade 12.
The school seeks an energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and flexible team member who is internationally minded and demonstrates a strong appreciation for bilingualism and bilingual education. Experience in similar institutions serving diverse, multicultural, and multilingual communities is highly desirable. This position reports to the Chief of Enrollment Management.
Candidates must be collaborative team players with outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the ability to contribute to a culturally competent admissions approach.
The successful candidate will demonstrate emotional intelligence, empathy for prospective families, and an understanding of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators in support of enrollment and retention strategies. Experience in admissions and/or independent schools is preferred.
This is a full‑time, exempt position. Compensation is based on educational attainment and relevant experience, with a bi‑weekly pay range of $2,692.31 to $3,461.54, in accordance with the School’s regular payroll practices and subject to applicable withholdings.
As a temporary‑to‑hire position, benefits are not offered during the initial assignment. In accordance with California law, employees are provided a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave (PSL). Should the position convert to regular employment status, employees may become eligible for additional benefits, including medical and paid time off (PTO), in accordance with School policy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the recruitment and retention of students and families aligned with INTL’s mission and bilingual educational model
Support the growth of our French program
Represent INTL to prospective families‑locally and internationally, effectively communicating the school’s mission, programs, and value proposition
Maintain accurate applicant records, including calendar management, application steps, and status updates within Ravenna (including weekly dashboard updates)
Organize, coordinate, plan, and support the execution of on‑campus, off‑campus, and virtual events, including:
Saturday Open houses
Campus tours
Information sessions
School fairs
Student assessment and visit days
New family welcome events and orientations
Guide prospective families through the admissions process, providing clear and responsive communication
Support retention initiatives and events for current families (e.g., key transition years such as PK‑K and Grade 5‑6)
Work closely with division Principals to coordinate admission tours and student visits with faculty
Facilitate the growth of the student ambassador program to support attendance at admission events and/or host student visitors
Conduct Parent Interviews
Evaluate applicant files to support the admission committee process
Guide Parent Tours in collaboration with Principals and Deans
Represent INTL at local school fairs on weekends and evenings in the fall
Organize and support onboarding of new students, including support of buddy program, Red Carpet welcome, New Parent Orientations, and New Family Welcome events
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree required
2‑5 years of experience in education, preferably in admissions or independent schools
Bilingual or multilingual skills strongly preferred (native speaker of French a plus)
Knowledge of the French educational system
Experience with admissions and CRM platforms (e.g., Ravenna, Blackbaud, HubSpot, Calendly) preferred
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and present enrollment data clearly
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, multilingual environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in support of admissions events
Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate framework (PYP, MYP, and DP) a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including managing admissions systems and communications
Frequent movement across campus, including walking between buildings and attending on‑site events in varying weather conditions
Ability to ascend and descend stairs and navigate multi‑level campus facilities
Ability to stand for extended periods during admissions events, tours, and school functions
Ability to occasionally lift and transport materials related to events (e.g., signage, marketing materials, supplies) up to approximately 20 pounds
Frequent verbal and written communication with prospective families, students, and colleagues
