About the role
The BIM Coordinator supports our engineering teams by creating, maintaining, and coordinating high‑quality Revit models for conveyor systems used in facilities such as UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Walmart, and Home Depot. This role ensures accurate integration with architectural, structural, and MEP systems; manages clash detection; works with scan data; and helps deliver clear, constructible BIM deliverables. The BIM Coordinator keeps models aligned with project standards, improves coordination between disciplines, and supports smooth project delivery from design through installation What you'll do
Build and maintain high quality 3D electrical and controls models in Revit, enabling engineers to work faster, reduce errors, and deliver more constructible designs. Partner closely with the electrical controls team to support the full electrical scope of conveyor and sortation projects. Develop and manage Revit-based electrical BIM content, including layouts, equipment, conduit, and related electrical components tied to accurate project deliverables. Support the creation of electrical drawings derived from coordinated Revit models. Extend Aegis’s existing mechanical BIM workflows into the electrical and controls space, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability across disciplines. Coordinate electrical models with mechanical, systems engineering, architectural, structural, and MEP teams to resolve conflicts early and improve overall model quality. Perform model coordination and clash detection using Revit and/or Navisworks, with a focus on electrical and controls interfaces. Collaborate with engineers to ensure BIM models align with design intent, constructability, and downstream installation needs. Work with AutoCAD Electrical–based controls documentation as needed, translating or coordinating that information within Revit‑centric BIM workflows. Help improve and evolve BIM standards, templates, and workflows for electrical and controls modeling as this function is built from the ground up. Contribute to a new and developing role, bringing ideas, creativity, and a willingness to adapt as Aegis expands its in‑house electrical and controls capabilities. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience Strong BIM experience, with a clear preference for Autodesk Revit Hands‑on experience with electrical design or electrical systems modeling Ability to create, manage, and coordinate 3D electrical models that support engineering accuracy Working knowledge of electrical drawings, layouts, and coordinating with multi‑discipline projects Experience collaborating with engineering and controls teams to support project execution Strong attention to detail and a mindset focused on reducing errors through better modeling and coordination. Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams. Willingness to learn, adapt, and help define a role that is new to the organization.
