
Commercial Roofing Superintendent

Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commercial Roofing Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily activities of the production crews. The superintendent will install roofing products and systems with the highest degree of quality, in the safest and most cost‑effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
Provide training, leadership and direction to multiple commercial roofing crews.
Complete timely reviews on all roofing workforce employees.
Crew personnel management, scheduling and issue resolution.
Maximize production while maintaining job costs, installation quality and employee safety.
Utilize the proper roofing materials and equipment.
Train employees on safety procedures and safety equipment.
Recruit, mentor and retain a dependable and knowledgeable commercial workforce.
Educate employees on roofing best practices, terminology, materials and equipment.
Plan, administrate, and participate as an instructor in company‑sponsored education programs for the roofing workforce.
Promote proper work ethic and enforce the company’s policies, procedures and practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Specification
High school diploma or equivalent.
5‑8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient knowledge of PC and tablet software applications including Word and Excel.
Working knowledge in blueprint reading and specifications.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Occasional travel and out‑of‑town work required.
Available to work extended hours when necessary.
Must not be afraid of heights.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge with multiple types of commercial roofing products and systems.
Advanced planning skills for establishing maximum productivity of workforce, materials, and equipment.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform basic math operations in all units of measure.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Professional representation of the company, promoting the organization positively.
Problem identification and resolution, multi‑tasking, follow‑through, priority setting, urgency.
