Position Summary
The Director of the South Jersey Innovation Center provides strategic and operational leadership to advance the organization’s mission of inspiring a lifelong love of innovation through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). This role blends program leadership, fundraising, marketing, and team management, serving as both the public face of the organization and a hands‑on leader ensuring high-quality educational experiences.
Program Development & Coordination
Design, implement, and evaluate innovative STEAM programs for diverse age groups
Ensure programs are engaging, impactful, and aligned with the organization’s mission
Coordinate schedules, resources, and logistics for program delivery
Administration & Operations
Oversee day-to-day operations, budgeting, and organizational planning
Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and internal policies
Maintain effective systems for communication, reporting, and program tracking
Human Resources & Team Leadership
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise educators and staff
Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment
Conduct performance management and professional development
Marketing & Community Engagement
Oversee marketing strategy, branding, and outreach initiatives
Represent the organization at events, in the community, and with key partners
Build strong relationships with families, schools, and local organizations
Fundraising & Development
Lead and execute fundraising strategies, including grants, sponsorships, individual giving, and partnerships
Cultivate relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders
Identify new revenue streams to support organizational growth and sustainability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
5+ years of leadership experience, ideally in education, nonprofit, or program management
Demonstrated success in fundraising and community engagement
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience working with children, families, and educators
Passion for STEAM education and innovation

Compensation
$55,000-65,000 annual base salary
Additional incentive of 5% of year-over-year revenue growth
