Pensacola, FL | Standard hours 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with an option for

four 10‑hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

Pay Rate:

$35.08 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is supporting a world‑class organization at the forefront of the global energy industry, and we’re looking for a Technical Writer – Maintenance Operations to join the team onsite. Role Overview: Where Precision Drives Performance In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping essential operations running smoothly. With minimal supervision, you’ll create, refine, and standardize technical documentation used by maintenance teams in the field—ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with real‑world execution. Your work will directly support preventive maintenance, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement across industrial operations.

What You’ll Do Day to Day

Develop, review, and maintain technical manuals, user guides, job plans, and preventive maintenance work orders within Maximo CMMS

Validate maintenance instructions against OEM manuals and technical specifications

Review labor estimates, task sequencing, and job steps to match actual field execution

Standardize documentation to align with OEM procedures, internal standards, and best practices

Translate complex technical data into clear, user‑friendly maintenance instructions

Collaborate closely with technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross‑functional partners

Support document control, configuration management, reporting, and CMMS data entry

Inspect, photograph, and document equipment and systems in an active industrial environment

Ensure all documentation meets established safety, quality, and formatting standards

Required & Preferred Qualifications Required

Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment

Strong technical writing and written communication skills

Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and schematics

High attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and consistency

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF editing tools

Ability to meet physical demands of an industrial maintenance role (climbing, bending, working in tight or elevated spaces)

Willingness to work flexible hours, including early/late shifts, weekends, split shifts, and overtime as needed

Commitment to following all safety and PPE requirements

Preferred / Nice to Have

Trade certification or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance

Experience with Maximo CMMS or similar maintenance management systems

Background in PM program standardization or CMMS improvements

Knowledge of Lean Maintenance, Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM), or similar methodologies

Experience collaborating directly with technicians and engineering teams in operational settings

Familiarity with document control and configuration management best practices

Pay Details:

$35.08 per hour
