Orange Media Network Senior Creative Photographer (2026-2027)
Position Summary
This recruitment will fill one part‑time (maximum of 24 hours per week) Senior Creative Photographer for the Orange Media Network at Oregon State University (OSU).
Students in this position will learn communication, critical thinking, professionalism, teamwork and technology.
Employment Dates:
Full Start:
Sept. 8, 2026 – June 15, 2027
Pay Rate:
Average 10‑15 hours per week at $16.30 per hour
Responsibilities
Conduct shoots for promotional photography, public service announcements, behind‑the‑scenes for each medium, house advertisements, client projects and other special graphic and photo needs.
Oversee creation and upkeep of photo archive system for clients and OMN.
Meet all deadlines or proactively communicate with clients to reset expectations if deadlines are at risk.
Attend weekly cohort meetings and all trainings.
Hold and post 5‑10 regular office hours each week for OMN; at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (9 a.m.‑5 p.m., Monday‑Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term.
Act in a professional manner at all times and create and maintain collegial working relationships with fellow student leaders, organization members, sources, stakeholders, partners, collaborators and the community.
Other duties as assigned by the adviser.
Additional Communication
Respond to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN.
Notify adviser immediately should any ethical, legal, personnel or controversial problems occur.
Leadership & Inclusion
Be an enthusiastic leader and representative of OMN.
Work to create an inclusive and welcoming culture of celebration and perseverance.
Ensure designs and content are centered on equitable representation and inclusion, with attention to impact on historically underrepresented and marginalized communities and constituencies.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard:
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program.
Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term.
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full‑time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Demonstrable proficiency in Photoshop, Lightroom or other photo editing software.
Can think creatively and innovatively.
Has an eye for visual composition.
Knowledgeable about shooting in different settings and editing photos.
Is knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding client photography.
Is able to manage time effectively and can meet deadlines.
Is able to communicate with others (e.g., clients, coworkers, partners) and is comfortable speaking in public.
Is organized and reliable.
Is comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations.
Is adaptable to a changing environment.
