Position Summary This recruitment will fill two part‑time Creative Video Associate positions for the Orange Media Network at Oregon State University. The role involves creating videos for internal OMN promotional work and outside clients, including promotional videos, client videos, motion graphics, tutorials and instructional videos.

Students will develop communication, critical thinking, teamwork, professionalism, and technology skills.

Employment dates: September 8, 2026 – June 15, 2027.

Pay: $16.30 per hour (average 10–15 hours per week).

Responsibilities

Meet all deadlines and follow the video creation process in Basecamp.

Conduct shoots for promotional videos, public service announcements, liners, house advertisements, behind‑the‑scenes videos, and other special video needs.

Create videos for outside clients as directed by supervisor.

Develop multiple storyboards for each video project and pitch them to the Assistant Director, client, and stakeholders.

Collaborate closely with designers, journalists, photographers, editors, marketers and student leaders.

Advise and assist other OMN students on their video projects.

Other duties as assigned by the adviser.

Communication and Professional Conduct

Respond to emails, messages, and phone calls the same day, representing OMN professionally.

Notify adviser immediately of any ethical, legal, personnel, or controversial problems.

Hold and post regular office hours each week, at least half during 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Follow all OMN policies and procedures and hold staff and volunteers to them.

Maintain academic enrollment in high school, community college, or university and meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard.

Additional Required Qualifications

Proficient in Adobe Premiere or other video editing software.

Ability to think creatively and innovatively.

Eye for visual composition.

Comfortable shooting and editing video and/or photos.

Knowledgeable about field video production.

Understanding of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and video.

Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Demonstrable customer service talent.

Strong writing and communication skills and comfort with public speaking.

Organized and reliable.

Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.

Professional calmness when working with difficult individuals and situations.

Ability and interest in learning to create content for all media platforms.
