Position Summary This recruitment will fill three part‑time Marketing Associate positions (a maximum of 24 hours per week) for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Marketing Associate promotes OMN brand and increases engagement with OMN’s six mediums: The Barometer, KBVR‑TV, KBVR‑FM, DAMchic, Beavers Digest, and Prism. The role works collaboratively on planning, developing, and launching marketing plans, events, promotional campaigns, distribution of print publications, and digital marketing (e.g., social media, email).

Students develop communication, critical thinking, professionalism, teamwork, and technology skills.

The employment dates are: September 8, 2026 – June 15, 2027.

Pay Information Full Start: 10–15 hrs./week, at $16.30 per hour.

Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development. In this role, students build vital career‑readiness skills, including communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and professionalism.

Position Duties Responsibilities

Strategize with OMN Marketing Lead and medium student leaders to create marketing campaigns that increase awareness and drive engagement.

Develop social media content calendars and post content online.

Participate and represent OMN at events such as Welcome Week, tabling, OMN tours, class visits, and launch parties.

Distribute OMN print publications to assigned racks and distribution centers.

Track and review marketing analytics, provide insights, and develop action plans based on data.

Collaborate with student leaders and partners to plan and launch events.

Attend weekly cohort meetings and all trainings.

Hold and post 5–10 regular office hours each week for OMN; at least half should be during business hours (8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday). Hours may vary during the term.

Act professionally and maintain collegial relationships with student leaders, organization members, partners, and the community.

Other duties as assigned by the adviser.

Communication

Respond to emails, messages, team chats, and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN.

Leadership

Be an enthusiastic leader and representative of OMN.

Provide feedback and coach others to perform at their best.

Create an inclusive and welcoming culture of celebration and perseverance.

Ensure designs and content are centered on equitable representation and inclusion, especially for historically excluded communities.

Be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.

Maintain academic standing; students on academic suspension are not eligible.

Meet minimal enrollment: High School: Regular enrollment; UG/Post‑bacc: 6 credit hours/term; International UG: 12 credit hours/term*; Graduate: 5 credit hours/term; International Graduate: 9 credit hours/term*.

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours and still be considered “full‑time” by USCIS. A reduced course load must be approved by the Office of International Services and submitted to the Student Employment Center.
