Overview
HHDC is seeking an experienced residential Property Manager to oversee a Section 8 development in
Lake View community area in Chicago, IL . The candidate must be team oriented with experience in affordable housing, residential property management, and excels in providing customer service to residents. This is an opportunity to contribute to an established, fast-growing company that supports learning and personal growth. Responsibilities
Supervise all aspects of marketing and leasing. Oversee maintenance staff, approve schedules, and conduct follow-up inspections of maintenance work. Inspect site grounds daily and approve the “make-ready” status of vacant apartments. Oversee key control and educate employees regarding safety and security. Prepare and update emergency procedures plan. Implement and oversee compliance with all regulatory agency policies and Tenant Selection Plan requirements (e.g., Fair Housing and Occupancy compliance). Establish networks with community services and respond to inquiries or complaints. Act as a liaison and advocate on behalf of residents to public and private agencies. Prepare and submit monthly reports to corporate and regulatory agencies on a timely basis. Prepare payroll information and submit to supervisor on a timely basis. Oversee that all resident files are properly maintained to company and regulatory agency standards. Requirements
High School Diploma; some college preferred. 3 years experience as a Property Manager in affordable housing. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have or obtain state leasing license. Experience supervising staff. Must have both physical and fiscal building knowledge. Accredited resident manager or similar designation a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have a vehicle, insurance, and a good driving record. Compensation package includes salary based on experience, health, vision, dental and life insurance, paid vacation, and more.
