Position Title Assistant Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Location 35 Centerra Parkway, Lebanon, NH 03756 (Hybrid: mix of on‑site and remote)

Schedule Full‑time. 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.

Must be available for on‑site presence as needed.

Position Purpose Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Assistant Director manages a portfolio of 15-25 corporate and foundation funders, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships to secure grants that support Dartmouth Health’s priorities. The role also provides operational support to the CFR office, managing databases, conducting prospect research, and producing communications.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of 15-25 foundation and corporate prospects through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles, meeting performance metrics.

Partner with Medical and Healthcare Advancement colleagues to support event sponsorship proposals.

Assist in formulating strategies, briefings, and working materials for senior officers, faculty, and researchers involved in fundraising.

Develop and submit funding proposals in collaboration with the director.

Organize and coordinate corporate and foundation meetings and site visits.

Coordinate weekly distribution of current funding opportunities to the CFR team.

Conduct research to identify funding opportunities for Dartmouth Health researchers and program leads.

Track and maintain databases of program leads, researcher expertise, and funding needs.

Write and tailor grant acknowledgment letters.

Build and maintain relationships across Medical and Healthcare Advancement and Dartmouth Health to ensure smooth coordination of processes and projects.

Maintain knowledge of corporate and foundation initiatives, current programs, and funding opportunities.

Follow institutional protocol for proposal submission via the Sponsored Projects Administration.

Use office systems to track all activity with researchers and foundations/corporations.

Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality in all interactions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

2+ years in philanthropy/fundraising, preferably in corporate and foundation relations.

Experience working in a large and/or complex organization.

Writing, communications, and/or editing experience in higher education or a non‑profit environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

Ability to work with and command respect of senior officers, faculty, and administrators.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams.

Excellent analytical, project management skills, and attention to detail.

Discretion with sensitive and confidential matters.

Ability to handle multiple projects and set priorities.

Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and web‑based software applications.

Self‑motivation, flexibility, humility, joy, and humor.

Preferred Qualifications Philanthropy/fundraising background in corporate and foundation relations is preferred.
