
Assistant Director of Admissions
Keene State College, Keene, NH, United States
This position will implement and participate in recruitment activities and share with all admissions officers’ common responsibilities representing Keene State College to all interested students. The Assistant Director will participate in all phases of recruitment and admissions activities and be responsible for supporting the Admissions Office in identifying, attracting, and enrolling students from a specific territory. Additional sole responsibilities include oversight of all graduate enrollment processes, managing Graduate Coordinators reviewing applicant admission requests, overseeing onboarding of new students—including class registration, meeting tuition obligations, participating in graduate fairs in New England, increasing graduate program attendance, and other duties as assigned. All staff on campus support students and will be involved in student-focused activities.
Duties/Responsibilities Graduate Recruitment (40%)
Oversee and implement strategies for increased graduate, transfer, and readmission recruitment efforts which includes representing the college on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process including at college fairs, high school visits (as needed) and other events.
This role will successfully recruit, select, and enroll an academically talented and diverse student body that meets institutional goals. Develop and maintain communication with prospective students and school counselors through email, phone, text, handwritten notes, and other forms of correspondence. Create retention goals and implement retention strategies to raise graduate student yield from acceptance to start.
Monitor progress toward targets for the territory through use of Salesforce/TargetX CRM, dashboards, and other data. Develop and implement recruitment and travel strategies, including overnight travel, evening, and weekend work. Requires running reports in Salesforce/TargetX CRM, delivering presentations and effectively communicating specifics about KSC in daily/weekend group information sessions. Assist with Admissions events, prospective student visits and other duties as assigned.
Transfer Applicants and Readmission Requests (20%)
Oversee and implement strategies for increased transfer and readmission recruitment efforts which include representing the college on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process including at college fairs, high school visits (as needed) and other events. Create retention goals and implement retention strategies to raise readmit and graduate student yield from acceptance to start.
Management of Program Coordinators (20%)
Oversee graduate Program Coordinator’s production of admissions processes, proactive student outreach and recruitment efforts, increasing Keene State brand awareness, resulting in higher new student enrollment. Partner with Graduate Coordinators to ensure high-touch points throughout the admissions process. Work with Registrar to create smooth onboarding process with course registration.
Application Reading (15%)
Independently responsible for the timely and accurate evaluation of approximately 1000 applications using a digital-based application system and issue admissions decisions for graduate admissions, honors consideration and merit-based scholarships.
Administrative (5%)
Plan travel for recruitment, meet bi-weekly with Program Coordinators to ensure tracking to goals, create reporting tools within Salesforce/Slate/etc to ensure proper documentation of student outreach efforts. Assist with phone call coverage as needed, back-up for other administrative duties, etc.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
Bachelor’s and four years of post-graduate related experience in higher education.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven written and oral communication skills; demonstrated experience with Microsoft applications and relational databases. Additional experience in counseling/recruitment/advising.
Requires running reports in Salesforce/TargetX CRM, delivering presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or 6 years of relevant experience.

Compensation Pay Range $43,710.00 - $77,920.00
