EDGE New Jersey (EDGE NJ) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as its first Director of Development. This is a rare opportunity to build a modern development program from the ground up and lead a multiyear capital campaign that will create New Jersey’s first permanent Pride & Wellness Center—a transformational investment in LGBTQ+ health and wellness.
The Director of Development will shape EDGE NJ’s philanthropic identity, strengthen donor relationships, and expand private revenue at a pivotal moment in the organization’s growth. This role is ideal for a mission-driven, entrepreneurial fundraiser who thrives in a builder’s environment and is energized by designing systems, strategies, and donor experiences that reflect authenticity and care.
Key Responsibilities
Leading major gifts and individual giving
Serving as internal lead for the capital campaign
Cultivating corporate partnerships
Collaborating on compelling fundraising communications
Establishing development systems and workflows
Providing strategic oversight for fundraising events
The Director will work closely with the CEO, Chief Impact Officer, and Community Engagement team.
Qualifications
Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising
Experience with capital campaigns
Strong donor cultivation and stewardship skills
Ability to build infrastructure and processes
Cultural humility and a commitment to LGBTQ+ health equity
Experience with DonorPerfect or Givecloud is preferred
