Position Information
Position Title: Servicing Specialist
Department: Finance
Reports to: Funding and Collateral Supervisor
Pay Grade: Hourly $20/h
Status: Regular, Full-Time
Title Grade: Entry or Junior
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Summary & Purpose of Position The Servicing Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing payments, along with processing escrow disbursements. This individual will work directly with customers, including light collections.
Primary Responsibilities
Payment processing
Review all new loan set-up and ongoing monitoring and controls of sub‑servicer’s loan administration activities
Confirm timely set‑up of loans by sub‑servicer and perform quality assurance on new loans boarded to the system
Review reports and work closely with sub‑servicer regarding delinquent loans to confirm that adequate efforts have been made to contact borrowers with regards to agency guidelines
Monitor and analyze all federal, state, agency, municipal and other regulatory requirements for mortgage servicing to identify new requirements that impact the mortgage loan and servicing portfolio
Process timely escrow disbursement
Manage insurance documentation handling
Administer goodbye letters and statement processing
Complete other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Mortgage servicing experience a plus
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Dependable with meeting deadlines and managing time
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Education / Experience None
Reporting to this position No direct reports
Physical Demands/Environment The environment is characteristic of an office setting. Must be able to execute complex tasks on time sensitive transactions, and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
