AWS is seeking a Principal level Strategy and Business Development leader to join our team. You will work with a global cross‑functional team to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage complex partnership deals that span marketing, content, commerce, and technology. This high‑impact role requires strategic oversight, deep market insight, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and senior leadership at the CEO level.
Key Job Responsibilities
Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships that involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components.
Assess technical feasibility for AWS and evaluate the economic and strategic cost‑benefit of partnerships.
Lead cross‑functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, and senior management to execute on the relationships.
Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track partnership opportunities.
Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon’s business teams on a global basis.
Understand the needs of each Amazon business and strategically formulate and negotiate the best value for the company with its most strategic customers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
7+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders.
Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross‑functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master's degree.
Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations.
Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner.
Experience in strategic business development, product management, investment banking, legal, or other fields that involve commercial partnership negotiations.
Experience leading cross‑functional groups to debate tradeoffs, drive alignment, and make high‑judgment decisions related to critical partnerships or projects.
End‑to‑end deal experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as licensing deals, complex digital media transactions, and strategic technology relationships.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze income, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, construct an operating P&L, model deals, and articulate cost/benefit analyses.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
