The full-spectrum Capital One Global Enterprise Communications team is responsible for all aspects of the company’s communications strategy and execution in order to propel business imperatives while promoting and protecting the reputation of Capital One. Our purview includes corporate and brand media relations, issues and reputation management, financial communications, and associate communications, as well as a full-service content and creative storytelling team that brings the story of Capital One to life on internal and external channels. We are communicators, writers, creative directors and multimedia experts, and we are all storytellers. As a central team within Global Enterprise Affairs, we are strategic counselors to our partners throughout the enterprise, sitting at the intersection of value creation and risk mitigation. We help drive business initiatives forward while enhancing the reputation of Capital One.
We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing Communications team. This position requires exceptional judgment, an ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment, and a sustained focus on delivering results. About the Role
As a Senior Associate on the Global Enterprise Communications team, you will contribute to executing strategic communications programs that support Capital One’s business and brand objectives. Working across teams, you’ll help deliver impactful campaigns and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders. On the multimedia and storytelling team within Global Enterprise Communications, you’ll work closely with key partners in Community Impact, Corporate Reputation and across our Community Benefits Plan.
We seek a graphic designer/art director to apply a fresh eye to visual storytelling, branding and design efforts. This role is responsible for executing conceptually strong corporate communications campaigns, visual identities, static and motion design assets, multimedia content and web experiences across internal and external channels. The Sr. Associate will apply innovative thinking and technical expertise to support business priorities, provide creative counsel and assist in maintaining Capital One's digital asset and self-service libraries.
What you’ll do
Develop and execute high-quality creative assets and campaigns—including web page layout, document layout, logos/identities, spot illustration, infographics, photo editing, presentation design—for internal and external channels.
Apply strategic rationale to design aesthetic, contributing to the development of new creative strategies and asset production pipelines.
Ensure all materials meet brand guidelines, quality standards and maintain Capital One’s brand voice.
Own project workflow, manage timelines and produce error‑free visual communications under deadlines, incorporating client and legal feedback and adhering to established project filing and issues management protocols.
Collaborate with designers and project stakeholders, and attend project briefings, pitch and reviews. Maintain a general understanding of communication strategies.

A strong portfolio showcasing:
Experience designing in a variety of mediums, including print and digital.
Strong skills in user experience, branding, infographic creation, page layout, iconography, color usage.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years professional design experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Public relations or communications experience in financial services, technology, or consumer brands.
Corporate design, agency or graphic design firm experience.
2 years photo editing experience.
Some illustration/drawing and digital photography experience.
Must be comfortable working in a corporate environment and able to work quickly under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in all industry standard software programs: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat), Figma and Mac systems. LumApps CMS, Adobe After Effects/Animate, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, LucidChart, Jira knowledge desirable.
Proficient in Google Suite, specifically knowing how to lay out Themebuilder and Content slides using Google Slides and understanding Google Drive Sharing.

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $88,800 - $101,300 for Sr. Communications Associate
Plano, TX: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Communications Associate
Richmond, VA: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Communications Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
