Loan Processing Specialist
Job Summary
Receives, reviews, audits, and disburses loan applications through an indirect lending program to maintain program quality, ensure accuracy of loan information, and support member and dealership satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Receive and audit paperwork from vehicle dealerships, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Research and identify missing or incorrect information and communicate discrepancies with dealership personnel.
Perform verifications on application data prior to funding.
Identify red flags in loan documentation to help prevent potential fraud.
Determine whether loans warrant disbursal according to established lending guidelines.
Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws.
Fund approved loans to dealerships with the appropriate administrative fees.
Assist department staff with gathering information and preparing reports.
Provide status updates and information on loans to department management and staff.
Assist with other lending area tasks as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Approximately one year of experience in a lending position performing contract review, or closely related experience.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while performing job duties.
Normal vision range sufficient to read and evaluate loan documents.
Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with dealerships, staff, and members.
Clerical proficiency and experience with telephone systems, credit reporting tools, electronic banking equipment, ten-key, fax machines, and personal computer filing systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documentation.
Summary Qualification
Completed secondary education with foundational knowledge of lending practices.
Hands‑on experience in loan or contract review within a financial services environment.
Working knowledge of relevant compliance regulations affecting lending operations.
Proven ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to manage detailed documentation and identify inconsistencies.
Skill

Fraud awareness and detection of red flags in applications.
Data verification and reconciliation.
Use of credit reporting and electronic banking tools.
Proficient use of office equipment, including ten-key and fax.
