Drafter
Job Description
As a Drafter, you will assist in planning and preparing detailed drawings by applying standardized drawing techniques from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the direction of an engineer. You will collect initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers, and combine relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.
Responsibilities
Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams.
Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices.
Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity.
Collaborate in drafting activities with designers and drafters in other disciplines.
Communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external clients and personnel.
Execute design changes and project drawing revisions.
Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience with Microstation
Knowledge of design and drafting techniques
CAD proficiency
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate of Science in Drafting
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
Familiarity with Solidworks, Revit, and Civil 3D
Work Environment The work environment involves using advanced CAD systems and working with a team of engineers, project managers, and other drafters. The role requires effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
