About Albemarle Eye Center: Dr. Jitendra Swarup and our vision care experts offer a wide range of ophthalmic services across Edenton, Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington locations. Services include LASIK laser eye surgery, LenSx® Laser Cataract Removal, oculoplastics, glaucoma treatment, routine eye exams, and contact lens fittings.

Essential Job Functions
Work with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide patient care by performing various eye‑related clinical functions.
Take patient histories, perform procedures and tests, and prepare patients to see the doctor.
Provide ophthalmologists and optometrists with important information to diagnose and treat patients.
Assist and provide patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment.
Conduct tonometry tests to measure intraocular pressure.
Measure visual acuity.
Take and document patients’ medical histories.
Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
Conduct visual field tests to measure field of vision.
Instruct patients in the care and use of contact lenses.

Education and Experience
Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus.
Previous experience in the medical field (preferred).
High School Diploma or GED required; willing to train the right person. Experience in optometry or ophthalmology a plus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full‑time position located at the Washington, NC office.
Travel to other locations will be required.
