
Director of Business Operations

Sales Managers work full time and must be available Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm or close. This position is exempt from overtime and may need to work before or after a shift or on weekends.
SUMMARY Directs the sales activities of the dealership by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all salespeople.
Directs sales staffing and training in ways that will enhance the development and control of sales programs.
Establishes annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit.
Monitors salesperson productivity and performance.
Orders/acquires new- and used-vehicle inventory.
Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs.
Displays, merchandises and promotes new- and used-vehicles.
Reviews market analyses and sales reports to determine customer needs, and volume potential, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate the goals of the dealership.
Serves as liaison between sales department and other departments.
Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Schedules and plans New Owner Clinics as a follow-up to the delivery process.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Attends managers meetings as requested.
Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School Diploma
Certifications / Licensures
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy
Skills
Flexible to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proficient in knowledge of basic computer use
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices preferred
Efficient keyboarding
Ability to work well with personnel and vendors
Ability to resolve problems
Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
Ability to prioritize and organize—time management skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Occasional operation of motor vehicle
Rare on bending, squatting, and reaching
Occasional use of hand dexterity (keyboard, mouse)
Constant seeing and hearing
Constant use of written, speaking and reading skills
Occasional working as part of a group
Occasional loud noise, fumes, and odors
Frequent outdoor work environment (including wet conditions and variation in temperature)
