Laboratory Design Associate
to support the development of 2D and 3D laboratory layouts and construction plans for standalone laboratory solutions. This role involves preparing concept designs, creating technical drawings, and developing 3D visualizations to support laboratory design implementation and customer presentations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality laboratory design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Create 2D and 3D laboratory designs, concept layouts, and construction drawings using CAD and BIM software.
Convert Matterport digital twin files, BIM files, or point clouds into usable design formats.
Develop 3D models, renderings, and visualizations using tools such as Revit, Enscape, Twinmotion, or Unreal Engine.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and internal teams to refine and finalize laboratory design layouts.
Prepare phasing plans and technical drawings to support laboratory installation and implementation.
Maintain and document design change requests throughout project lifecycle stages.
Provide accurate technical specifications and installation dimensions to stakeholders.
Ensure designs comply with building codes, regulations, and drafting standards.
Manage multiple design assignments while meeting project deadlines.
Support team projects and perform additional drafting and design tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Design Technology, Interior Design, Drafting, or related field.
1–3 years of experience using Revit, BIM, or CAD-related software.
Basic understanding of architectural and mechanical drawings.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Unreal Engine, or Twinmotion.
Knowledge of 3D parametric CAD modeling.
Familiarity with GD&T and drafting standards.
Basic understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Exposure to Virtual or Augmented Reality tools.
