Director – Financial Analysis (Wealth Sector)
The Director – Financial Analysis – Wealth Sector is accountable for partnering with assigned business unit management on a day‑to‑day financial management strategy, reporting, and processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position leads efforts to support management by providing analysis to senior leaders and their management teams on their operating results, identifying areas of efficiency, explaining variances to plan, and communicating accounting implications of various decisions.
Additionally, the role identifies management reporting needs to assist the business in achieving its goals. This role has a primary focus on the Wealth Management business line and requires strong industry knowledge in wealth, investments, and financial products, with the ability to participate in strategic priorities and hold their own in a room with C‑suite leadership. This is a highly analytical, executive‑facing role requiring strong financial analysis experience within a bank or financial services environment, ideally supporting wealth, advisory, trust, or asset management business lines. This position does not have direct reports.
About This Role Financial Strategy
Develop, refine, and execute the financial strategy of the Bank in alignment with overall organizational goals.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including the CFO and business heads.
Collaborate with the CFO to ensure financial strategies comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Complete comprehensive budgets and forecasts for assigned business units in alignment with the long‑term strategy of the Bank.
Translate financial results into meaningful business insights and help shape financial strategy tied to growth goals.
Reporting & Analysis
Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and key performance indicators.
Implement and maintain robust financial reporting systems to provide actionable insights to senior management.
Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Perform heavy financial analysis, including variance analysis and storytelling behind the numbers to support decision‑making.
Performance Management
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate financial performance.
Build dashboards, define metrics, and drive accountability across the business unit.
Work closely with department heads to analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and overall financial performance.
Risk Management & Compliance
Collaborate with risk management teams to assess and mitigate financial risks.
Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements (SEC, FINRA, banking regulations) and industry trends, ensuring financial strategies are adaptive and compliant.
The Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
Proven experience (5+ years) in a finance role within banking, wealth management, investment, or financial services environments.
Strong background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
In‑depth knowledge of wealth management operations, financial products, and industry best practices.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and experience with reporting systems.
Executive presence with the ability to clearly present financial results, influence decision‑making, and effectively communicate with C‑suite leadership.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
