Construction Finance Director

Our client is seeking a Construction Finance Director to lead financial oversight, planning, and analysis for construction and development projects. This role partners closely with executive leadership and project teams to ensure financial performance, cost control, and accurate reporting across the project lifecycle. The position is hybrid, based in Durham, North Carolina.

What You’ll Be Doing Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for construction projects and capital initiatives Oversee job cost reporting, margin analysis, and project financial performance Partner with operations and project leadership to support cost controls and financial decision‑making Analyze variances, trends, and risks across construction projects Support contract review, change orders, and revenue recognition related to construction activity Provide executive‑level financial insights and reporting Strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting specific to construction finance Support audit activities and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards Mentor and lead finance or project accounting team members as applicable

What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure to construction or project‑based finance Prior experience in a Director‑level finance role or equivalent leadership position Strong understanding of job cost accounting, project forecasting, and financial reporting Experience partnering with construction, development, or operations teams CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
