Mechanical Designer
Tri-Mach Group Inc., Elmira, NY, United States
Smith Steel & Fabrication has been hand‑building custom steel tanks and fabricated structures from Atwood, Ontario for nearly 50 years. No two projects are alike here — our team designs and builds everything from bulk storage tanks and industrial flare stacks to one‑of‑a‑kind custom fabrications, all made to client specification. In January 2026, Smith Steel became part of Tri‑Mach Group Inc., bringing expanded resources and capabilities to a shop that already had deep craft and a loyal customer base. It’s an exciting time to join.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and shop personnel on custom tanks, structures, and one‑off fabrications that require creative problem‑solving, not just template execution. If you’re the kind of designer who likes knowing a project is truly yours from start to finish, this role is built for you.
