A warm, curious, and empowering family in West Portal is seeking a professional nanny to join their household in a long-term, collaborative role. Their bright, talkative almost 2-year-old daughter loves independence, storytelling, playdough pasta-making, and collecting plants — and their newborn son is expected this August. The family's home features a lively backyard with a garden and playroom. Within just a few minutes' walk, you'll find two excellent parks, the library, and the heart of downtown West Portal, making for a wonderfully rich environment for outings and exploration.
The nanny will work in partnership with the family's existing Monday–Friday nanny, providing dedicated Thursday–Sunday coverage with some weekday overlap. Mom is an actively involved stay-at-home parent who collaborates closely with caregivers, and the household also includes a personal assistant. The ideal candidate prioritizes safety while fostering independence and curiosity, and provides attentive, developmentally appropriate care for both an active toddler and a newborn. Responsibilities include planning enriching activities, coordinating before/after school routines (starting mid-August), meal prep for children, tidying and organizing children’s spaces, occasional errands, and light family assistant duties such as laundry and dishes. The family values mutual respect, open communication, and a true partnership approach to raising their children.
