The Arizona Democratic Party (ADP) is building a modern, year‑round political operation to elect Democrats up and down the ballot and expand Democratic power across the state. As we prepare for the 2026 cycle and beyond, we are investing in strong fundraising infrastructure, deep partnerships, and an aggressive finance program that matches Arizona’s political opportunity.

Position/Role The Finance Director will lead and execute the Arizona Democratic Party’s fundraising program. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of ADP’s finance operation — including major donor fundraising, events, digital fundraising collaboration, labor and progressive partner engagement, and donor development.

The Finance Director will manage finance staff, work closely with senior leadership and partners, and play a key role in supporting party-wide events such as State Committee meetings and major donor gatherings. This is a highly visible, relationship‑driven role ideal for a seasoned fundraiser who thrives in a fast‑paced political environment.

Salary range for this position is $90,000-$95,000 annually Location:

Office hours are from 9am to 6pm. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the ADP and the point in the year and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle. Travel:

Some Required (in‑state and occasional out‑of‑state) Core Responsibilities

Manage and mentor finance staff, including assigning, supervising, and directing their work.

Develop and execute a comprehensive finance plan aligned with ADP’s electoral and organizational goals

Oversee and manage ADP’s fundraising calendar, including:

Two annual flagship galas

Regional, in‑district, and out‑of‑state fundraising events

Small and medium donor events

Track progress toward fundraising goals and adjust strategy as needed

Donor Development & Major Gifts

Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospective donors

Conduct donor research and build targeted call and meeting lists

Staff donor meetings for party leadership, elected officials, and candidates

Proactively identify and pursue new donors and fundraising opportunities

Collaborate with fundraising staff and vendors on email, text, and online fundraising efforts

Support integrated fundraising campaigns that connect digital and high‑dollar strategies

Assist with fundraising messaging, signers, and donor engagement strategy

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with labor unions, progressive organizations, and allied partners on fundraising efforts

Coordinate with campaigns, Legislative Districts (LDs), and county parties to support fundraising initiatives

Provide fundraising guidance, training, and support to local parties and candidates

Events & Party Support

Support fundraising and donor engagement tied to major party events, including State Committee meetings

Assist with planning and execution of special events involving party leadership and elected officials

Team & Operations

Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions

Ensure compliance with all campaign finance laws and reporting requirements

Coordinate with compliance, accounting, and operations vendors and teams

Position Requirements Qualifications & Experience Required

4+ years of fundraising experience and at least one full cycle of experience as a Finance Director or equivalent senior fundraising role for a campaign or political organization is preferred.

Demonstrated experience managing staff and fundraising programs

Strong donor‑facing skills with the ability to build authentic, long‑term relationships

Proven ability to plan and execute fundraising events and donor meetings

Comfortable making direct asks and pursuing new donor relationships

Willingness and ability to travel for fundraising events

Preferred

Experience working with state parties, coordinated campaigns, or large political organizations

Familiarity with labor and progressive fundraising ecosystems

Experience training candidates, local parties, or volunteers on fundraising

Experience with political fundraising databases and donor research tools

Skills & Attributes

Strong understanding of NGPVAN, ActBlue, and Numero preferred.
