We’re seeking a Credit & Accounting Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and analytical environment. This role is primarily responsible for evaluating new and existing customers to determine creditworthiness, establishing appropriate credit limits, and maintaining accurate credit records to support timely business decisions.
In addition to credit responsibilities, this role supports key accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Success in this position requires strong financial analysis skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance customer-facing credit decisions with accurate financial execution.
You’ll work closely with Agents, Accounts Receivable and other internal teams to assess financial risk, protect company assets, and support operational efficiency.
This position is onsite Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What You’ll Do Credit & Risk Management
Evaluate new and existing customers to determine creditworthiness in alignment with Mercer’s credit policies
Analyze financial statements, trade data, and references to support credit decisions and limit recommendations
Establish and adjust credit limits based on risk exposure and available coverage
Maintain accurate credit files and monitor active accounts for risk changes
Partner with Agents and Accounts Receivable to resolve account issues and support timely collections
Communicate credit decisions clearly with internal teams and customers to support business operations
Accounting & Financial Support
Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations
Support audits, financial reporting, and tax filings
Assist with commissions, 1099 processing, and other accounting-related tasks
Who You Are
Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable reviewing financial statements and making risk-based decisions
Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
Organized and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Professional and diplomatic when handling sensitive financial matters
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable learning new systems
Qualifications
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience in credit analysis, credit processing, or collections
Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently
