
Sales Tax & Compliance Specialist

We are currently looking for a Sales Tax & Compliance Specialist in Netherlands.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fully remote, global environment while supporting complex multi-state tax operations in the United States. As a Sales Tax & Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate tax registration, reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate closely with accounting teams and external agencies to maintain smooth and compliant operations. Accountabilities
Manage the registration process for sales tax and seller’s permits across multiple U.S. states
Coordinate with internal accounting teams to establish and maintain state-specific tax accounts
Handle multi-state sales and use tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
Monitor nexus thresholds and ensure ongoing compliance as business activities evolve
Reconcile tax reports with accounting records on a monthly and quarterly basis
Communicate with state tax authorities regarding registrations, renewals, and compliance matters
Maintain organized documentation and standardized processes across all jurisdictions
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in U.S. sales tax registration, filing, or compliance
Background in accounting, tax operations, or finance, ideally within eCommerce or SaaS environments
Familiarity with tax automation tools such as Avalara, TaxJar, or similar platforms
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with U.S. agencies
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple compliance tasks simultaneously
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting
Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving business environment
