Responsibilities Under the direction of the Principal, the Activities Director will provide administrative leadership in planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of athletic programs for the middle school. The Activities Director will promote extracurricular athletic activities that foster skills development, understanding of sports, and an appreciation for a variety of athletic activities and programs for middle school students.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be age 21 or older

Successful completion of the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) course and test entitled “Basic Virginia High School League Course” prior to beginning Activities Director duties with MCPS (a fee is associated with this course)

Successful completion of the NFHS Concussion in Sports course prior to beginning Activities Director duties with MCPS (no fee is associated with this course)

Ability to organize multiple athletic events

Ability to work with district and non-district organizations

Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators

Ability to motivate students

Ability to be dependable and punctual

Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required

Preferred Qualifications

Current teacher or staff member of Montgomery County Public Schools

Previous experience as a coach or athletic/activities director

Current CPR certification
