IEX Technical Sales Representative

About The Opportunity Independent Explosives has become the supplier of choice in the quarry, construction and underground markets throughout the northeast. Along with superior customer service, IEX will be expanding our offerings to include a variety of technical support across its broad market. The IEX Technical Sales Representative provides technical support to existing customers while at the same time using new technology to help grow the business. This role will also support Account Managers to provide quality reliable service to help our customers to improve safety and efficiencies.

What you will be doing

Will participate in the IEX safety culture by following all company safety policies and practices.

Operate bore-track, and UAV (drone) equipment.

Blaster and product training in both field in classroom.

Training support for electronic detonators.

Maintain professional representation to develop and foster customer relationships.

Provide training, guidance, direction and leadership to others to ensure work is performed to IEX standards and customer expectations.

Attention to detail in the reliability and quality of the information using good judgment to identify any anomalies.

Developing marketing strategies to gain market share.

Ensuring efficient accurate deliveries to meet customer expectations.

Participate in monthly wrap up meetings.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrates a commitment to the “Safety First” mantra throughout the Company.

In order to be successful in this role, here’s what we will need from you

Must have strong communications skills.

Possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record as defined by the company insurance carrier.

Strong technical communications skills (reading and writing.)

Organized with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines.

Working as a team player with several account managers and customers.

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

The ability to multi-task, effectively maintaining multiple priorities.

Travel throughout our operating region.

Commitment to work the hours required to meet the needs of our operations.

Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds.

Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions.

About You You have strong, hands‑on knowledge in blasting with explosives, as well as sales experience. You hold a minimum of a B.S. degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or direct industry equivalent experience, along with MSHA training. You are familiar with BATFE storage and licensing, bore tracking and drone surveys. You are adept at providing effective training, guidance, and leadership, and you can easily work well with others, including account managers and customers, especially in a team‑oriented environment.
