Assistant Account Manager, Commercial Lines

Job Summary The Assistant Account Manager provides a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing commercial lines accounts. The position assists with certificates of insurance, policy changes, gathering renewal information, preparing client presentations, general account assistance, and other special projects. Daily production standards, goals and service commitments must be met. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Account Management team with all aspects of the account‑service process. Respond to policy inquiries via phone and email; field calls from insureds regarding coverage questions, changes, additions, payments, or cancellations. Provide daily service work, including certificates of insurance, policy changes, and client payments. Participate in the renewal preparation process, generating renewal updates on accounts. Support marketing of clients to carriers. Coordinate premium financing and premium collections. Check policies/endorsements and audit for accuracy. Prepare quotes and proposals. Provide professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, ensuring account retention meets or exceeds expectations. Maintain accurate, organized account files by documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives; update HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems; ensure data accuracy. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. 1‑2 years of insurance industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Property & Casualty license required. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Effective and professional oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Efficiently gather pertinent information, analyze, and solve problems in a timely and thorough manner. Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities to complete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy. Respond to customer needs, solicit feedback to improve service, and handle difficult or emotional situations promptly and accurately. Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Critical thinking: use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems. Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Stationary most of the workday. Frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and on telephone. Constant use of computer and office productivity equipment (calculator, copier, printer). Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and machinery. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, impacted by candidate skills, experience, location, and specific business line, scope and level.
