$60,000-$65,000
This position is eligible for Daily Pay. We’ve partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit to offer employees access to their pay on their own schedule.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan. Must be 18 years of age to participate.
Job Summary The Specialist II, Employee Relations exists to administer programs and policies that create and foster a culture and environment where employees can fulfill the mission of helping people reach their highest level of personal and economic independence. This role advises management regarding the preparation and delivery of coaching and development documents, receives and acts on employee complaints and grievances, interacts with the Department of Labor (DOL) related to unemployment insurance, and resolves cases related to EEOC, OSHA, DORA, and other HR-related activities.
Essential Functions
Assists in coordinating/performing employment activities (i.e. onboarding, hiring, termination discussions, etc.).
Provides front-line support in the prevention, investigation, resolution, and referral of Employee Relations (ER) problems.
Advise management regarding the preparation and delivery of coaching and development documents.
Receives and acts on employee complaints/issues through various means of communication including email, virtual meetings, and one-on-one coaching conversations.
Conducts internal investigations into alleged misconduct; resolves complaints; reinforces and explains company policies and procedures to employees and management.
Follows through on all ER activities (complaints, investigations, etc.).
Maintains ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage competing priorities, including a large number of inquiries/investigations.
Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Exercises sound judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.
Works effectively with diverse groups of employees including those with barriers to employment (disabilities, disadvantages, etc.).
Maintains professional, neat, and personable conduct at all times.
Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive employee data.
Effectively communicates company policies and processes to employees and management.
Listens to employee feedback and follows up as necessary.
Advises management of significant events or situations that could negatively affect the company and recognizes positive contributions.
Ensures all reported matters are handled in a timely manner through thorough research, interviews, and data analysis during the investigative phase, with findings communicated to appropriate management.
Advises other managers on HR issues such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate action.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar is preferred.
PHR certification is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years dedicated focus on Employee Relations is required.
Additional HR experience in management is preferred.

Communication: Ability to effectively communicate for mediating disputes, explaining policies, and facilitating discussions between employees and management.
Problem Solving: Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
Conflict Resolution: Adept at resolving disputes and tensions to maintain a harmonious work environment.
Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills for mutually beneficial solutions during conflict resolution.
Labor Law and Compliance: Understanding of labor laws to protect both the company and employees.
Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Ability to show empathy and navigate sensitive situations.
Leadership and Influencing Skills: Ability to guide and influence others in employee relations scenarios.
Organization and Detail Orientation: Ability to stay organized and detail-oriented for records and policy compliance.
Policy Development and Implementation: Ability to implement company policies and procedures.
Employee Engagement: Ability to assess and improve employee satisfaction, motivation, and commitment.
Training and Development: Ability to provide training and development opportunities.
Confidentiality: Acknowledges access to confidential information and agrees not to disclose outside assigned duties.
