Key Responsibilities

Provides theoretical and evidence-based grounds for the evolving ECHO educational model and eConsult educational materials.

Leads the instructional design and curriculum development process for The Care Collaborative educational programs, including synchronous ECHO series, asynchronous learning modules, and eConsult educational resources.

Designs innovative and engaging learning experiences that support healthcare workforce development across diverse clinical and community-based audiences.

Works to ensure high-quality presentations by creating guidelines, instructive materials, and coaching sessions.

Develops training tools and provides coaching to train facilitators in the art of online facilitation.

Counsels ECHO Colorado partners to appropriately choose facilitators and experts based on the scope of the session roles.

Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs), clinical faculty, and partner organizations to translate complex healthcare and public health topics into structured, outcome-based curricula aligned with adult learning principles.

Researches innovative ideas and solutions to be applied in ECHO's virtual, collaborative educational sessions, which cover several unique health topics targeting a wide variety of health‑worker audiences annually.

Collaborates with SMEs to define the parameters of the educational intervention and to identify the training needs of potential audiences.

Guides topic development and designs outcome-based curricula appropriate for the ECHO and eConsult programs.

Ensures implementation of and adherence to continuing education (CE) compliance standards in educational programs that offer CE.

Serves as a liaison for faculty and subject matter experts both within the University of Colorado system and across external partner organizations.

Consults with healthcare organizations, public health agencies, and community partners to design educational interventions that address workforce training needs.

Advises partner organizations on instructional design strategies, curriculum development, and program structure to support the successful implementation of ECHO and related educational programs.

Educational Technology, Learning Platforms, and Digital Content Development

Develops and manages asynchronous learning experiences within learning management systems (LMS), including the creation of multimedia course materials such as videos, slides, interactive modules, and resource libraries.

Records, edits, and produces instructional video content and other digital learning materials to support educational programming.

Advises on the selection, implementation, and refinement of educational technology platforms used to deliver ECHO and eConsult educational initiatives.

Supports the development and maintenance of program learning infrastructure, including LMS platforms, participant resource databases, and digital learning environments.

Explores emerging educational technologies and digital learning tools to enhance learner engagement and program scalability.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in instructional design, business, marketing, communications, social science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

At least two or more (2+) years of experience in instructional design.

At least one (1) year of experience with a Learning Management System (LMS).

Substitution: A combination of instructional design education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree (completed or in progress) from an accredited college or university in education, instructional design, or educational technology.

Three (3) or more years of experience in instructional design.

Three (3) or more years of experience overseeing instructional design strategy across multiple health programs targeting public-, population-, and clinical-health focused audiences.

Experience using technology to support innovative educational techniques.

Experience with telehealth technology processes and platforms.

Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical and/or public health care topics.

Domain expertise in instructional design principles and best practices across multiple health disciplines.

Ability to design outcome-based curricula and identify learning needs.

Experience working with accredited continuing education (CE) for healthcare professionals.

Experience using eLearning development software (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.) to build asynchronous courses.

Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
