Role Description The Business Development Associate is responsible for generating new business opportunities and filling the top of the sales funnel for senior sales executives. This role focuses exclusively on outbound prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and appointment setting within the trade show and live events industry. The BDA drives pipeline growth by identifying target accounts, initiating conversations, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling high-quality discovery meetings for senior sales team members to close. This is a high-activity, high-accountability role suited for a competitive, resilient, and results-driven professional.

Core Responsibilities Research and prospect a strategic targeted trade show list and the attending companies Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns (phone, email, LinkedIn, industry networking) Generate qualified discovery meetings for senior sales executives Build and maintain a healthy top-of-funnel pipeline Qualify prospects based on organizational fit, needs, timeline, program and budget. Understand client event objectives, brand goals, and budget range Ensure opportunities meet defined handoff criteria before passing to closers

3. CRM & Sales Process Discipline Accurately document activities and notes in CRM/Hubspot Maintain clean pipeline stages Track and report weekly KRA’s Monitor trade show calendars and exhibitor lists Understand, research and report on verticals within strategic show lists Identify which companies are expanding into new markets Track show and industry trends

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with senior leadership to align on target accounts/shows Coordinate smooth handoffs of qualified opportunities Provide context and insights to improve close rates

Qualifications 1–3 years outbound sales, BDR, or hunter role experience Experience in trade shows, experiential marketing, or B2B services welcomed but not required Strong cold calling skills Strong face-to-face cold calling skills High resilience and comfort with rejection Excellent verbal and written communication skills
