Overview

The Brief Summary of Work for this Position describes the Instructional Designer who provides assistance in the development of online course design and delivery, recommends best practices for traditional and adult learners, and collaborates with faculty to create high-quality online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses. The role supports effective use of academic technology to enhance teaching and learning, ensures consistency and efficiency in course design, researches new technologies and pedagogies, and conducts course quality reviews and faculty training. Responsibilities

• Provide course quality reviews for best instructional practices and accessibility. • Research current trends in online learning and evaluate emerging technology solutions for online and hybrid teaching. • Communicate gaps in current technology-related processes to appropriate stakeholders. • Manage issues related to instructional technology solutions (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, Respondus, VoiceThread, Rev/3PlayMedia, and others). • Partner with faculty, DEeL staff, and ITS staff to determine client needs and communicate potential solutions. • Administer multimedia and graphic design projects, including video production, graphic/infographic creation, and web-based authoring tools (e.g., Storyline or Articulate). Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field with comparable work experience in Instructional Design. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Experience supporting, designing, developing, and delivering online, hybrid, and/or web-enhanced courses. Experience with teaching and training; converting F2F instruction to online/hybrid instruction and/or designing instruction for online learning. Familiarity with instructional methods, assessment strategies, and instructional technology solutions; experience with Learning Management Systems. Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts in user-friendly terms; efficient project management skills. Strong presentation skills; ability to work in a team and independently; proficiency with multimedia tools. Experience supporting online education and technology-enhanced teaching. Understanding accessibility principles and creating accessible content for online learning. Understanding of quality-driven online course principles (e.g., Quality Matters/OLC Scorecard). Collaborative, team-oriented track record; ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the university and online learning community.
