About the role The
Floral Designer
is responsible for creating artistic arrangements using fresh, dried, or artificial flowers and foliage for events, sales, and displays. They will work with all departments to ensure the quality of all arrangements. The Floral Designer's key focus will be on innovation, creativity, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
Design & Creativity:
Creating bouquets, corsages, sprays, and displays for weddings, funerals, and special events
.
Client Consultation:
Meeting with customers to understand their preferences, budget, and design needs.
Inventory & Care:
Ordering supplies, unpacking deliveries, and maintaining the longevity of floral stock through proper hydration and storage.
Shop Maintenance:
Cleaning, stocking, and organizing the retail, workspace, and coolers.
Sales & Logistics:
Processing transactions, taking orders via phone/internet, and ensuring timely delivery.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have a valid Nevada driver's license.
Two (2) years' experience in the hospitality industry.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with all types of floral and plants.
Experience with large events – preparing arrangements, setting up, etc.
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and catering to their requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of design techniques and tools involved in production specialty items (hedge walls, floral archways, etc.)
Strong skills in listening, time management, problem-solving and making key decisions effectively.
Ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment where multitasking is commonplace.
Flexible and demanding schedule – ability to work evenings, weekends, and other overtime shifts as needed for events, outside of a regular 8-5 schedule.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
